Brow Appointment Prep

Day of Your Appointment:

  • Make sure you eat something, have consumed no caffeine, and are well rested! Do not exercise the day of your appointment.

  • If it is something you typically use, you are welcome to come to your appointment with your brow makeup as you typically wear it. This will help us get an idea of what you are used to having your brows look like. Also, feel free to bring any photos of brows you love for reference. Instagram is a great place to find brow inspiration!

  • It is not necessary to shave, or pluck off, any part of your brows before your appointment and we actually prefer it if you leave them with as much natural hair as possible. If you have very little hair that is totally OK too!!

24 Hours Prior to Your Appointment

  • Avoid caffeine and anything else that can thin the blood and/or raise blood pressure. This includes: coffee, caffeinated tea, energy drinks, alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin, and vitamin E. Tylenol is OK. This is very important. Not only because it makes it easier for us to work on your brows, but more importantly, is imperative for your best healed results. Excess bleeding = ashier results as well as poorer pigment retention.

* All of these 24 hour prior guidelines also apply to the day of your appointment.

72 Hour Prior to Your Appointment

  • No waxing.

  • No intense UV exposure

1 Week Prior to Your Appointment

  • Discontinue taking any fish oil supplements (thins the blood).

2 Weeks Prior to Your Appointment

  • No botox for at least two weeks before your procedure.

  • No micro dermabrasion for at least two weeks before your procedure.

  • Discontinue the use of alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) and glycolic acids on or around the brow area for two weeks leading up to your appointment.

6 Months Prior to Your Appointment

  • If you have had chemotherapy you must wait a minimum of six months and provide a doctors note to clear you for your cosmetic tattoo procedure.

1 Year Prior to Your Appointment

  • You must be off Accutane for one year prior to your appointment.

Other Considerations

We cannot continue with your procedure if you have a sunburn, eczema, psoriasis, or an active breakout in or directly around the brow area, or are on antibiotics.

Please note: If you are currently on your menstrual cycle you may experience pain differently than you typically would and may be more sensitive to pain. Although we use topical anesthetics before and during the procedure, it is possible you may still experience pain to a greater degree due to this. Please schedule accordingly.

Failing to follow these instructions will affect your results in many ways, one of which being, if you consume caffeine (or anything that thins the blood) during the time frame stated above, it becomes much more difficult to implant pigment into your skin. This can greatly affect your healed results, resulting in more fading and less crisp healed hairstrokes and brows. Excessive bleeding also causes causes your brows to turn ashy in color. Not following other pre-appointment instructions may also lead to your brows turning undesirable tones as they heal (ashy or reddish), or your skin not being in a state conducive to receiving a cosmetic tattoo.

Please be mindful of following pre-appointment protocols for the best possible results.
