Brooke’s artistic skill level is off the charts. She just has a way of enhancing your natural beauty. Arizona is lucky to have her. The numbing concoctions she used worked like a charm. I was very comfortable throughout the whole process. I LOVE every thing I had done..but the lip blush is AMAZING! Do yourself a favor and get the lip blush done now, you won’t regret it. Bottom line... Brooke was born to do this! She’s clean, professional, & knows what she’s doing.”

Fine Print: What You Need to Know Before Booking
Initial Results vs. Final Look: After the procedure, your lips will appear brighter and more vibrant than the final healed result. Expect the color to soften and settle into a natural, long-lasting hue. Swelling usually subsides within 24-48 hours, and minimal to no bruising is typical.
Consultation Included: Each treatment includes a consultation to assess your desired outcome and ensure you’re fully prepared for the process.
Don’t forget to complete your medical form upon booking your appointment.
Cold Sore Precaution
If you are prone to cold sores, fever blisters, or herpes, you must obtain a prescription for an antiviral medication (such as Valtrex or Zovirax) from your doctor. The recommended dosage is:
2 pills two days before your appointment
2 pills one day before
2 pills on the day of your procedure
2 pills the day after
This is essential to prevent outbreaks during the healing process. Don’t forget to have enough medication for your touch-up session, which will be scheduled 6-10 weeks after the initial appointment.
Pre-Existing PMU Policy
If you have had previous permanent makeup on your lips, regardless of how faded or old it appears, you must submit a clear, makeup-free photo to lurestudioaz@gmail.com before booking your appointment. Once approved, you will need to book an initial session, not a color boost.
Please note that touching up or correcting another artist’s work requires a more in-depth process, and additional charges may apply for color correction or removal.
You’ll enjoy effortlessly enhanced lips, whether you want to add fullness, correct uneven tones, or simply wake up with a beautiful, natural tint every day!
Lip Pre-Appointment Prep (dooo it!)
-
You must be off Accutane for one year prior to your appointment.
-
If you have had chemotherapy you must wait a minimum of six months and provide a doctor's note to clear you for your cosmetic tattoo procedure.
-
Make sure you have planned to see your doctor for a prescription for Valtrex (antiviral) if you have ever had a cold sore, even if it has been years. The virus that causes cold cores can lay dormant but will be activated from the lip blush treatment itself. This is imperative!
You will need to take the prescription beginning at least 2 days before your appointment until 2 days after your lip blush appointment (as prescribed by your doctor!). You will also need to take the antiviral in the same manner before and after for your touchup appointment. Let your provider know you will need enough of this prescription for both services.
-
All lip filler treatments must be performed at least two weeks prior to your lip blush procedure to allow time for them to fully heal.
Optional: Start on an arnica regimen (2-3 times a day sublingually) to help reduce the possibility of bruising. You can find arnica online or at your local pharmacy or drugstore.
-
Exfoliate your lips daily with a sugar scrub to slough off any dryness. Dry lip skin will create issues performing the lip blush procedure as well as the potential for patchy healed results.
Please use a sugar scrub, you can easily make your own, for 3-4 nights prior to your treatment. Scrub lips for 2-3 minutes, wipe off the excess and then apply a thick mask of Vaseline or Aquaphor.
Avoid any lipsticks as they tend to dry out the lips and keep them moist with a nourishing balm instead for 5 days prior to your treatment.
-
No waxing directly around the lip area or intense UV exposure.
-
Avoid caffeine and anything else that can thin the blood and/or raise blood pressure. This includes: coffee, caffeinated tea, energy drinks, alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin, and vitamin E. Tylenol is OK. This is very important, and it is imperative for your best healed results.
* These 24 hour prior guidelines also apply to the day of your appointment.
-
Make sure you eat something, have consumed no caffeine, and are well rested! Do not exercise the day of your appointment.
Feel free to bring any photos of lip blush you love for reference. Instagram is a great place to find this inspiration! Search hashtags like #lipblush #healedlipblush
Remember that the initial outcome is bright but the healed result will be more soft and natural.
-
We cannot continue with your procedure if you have an active cold sore outbreak on or around the lip area or are on antibiotics (must wait 2 weeks after finishing a round of antibiotics).
Please note: If you are currently on your menstrual cycle you may experience pain differently than you typically would and may be more sensitive to pain. Although we use topical anesthetics before and during the procedure, it is possible you may still experience pain to a greater degree due to this. Please schedule accordingly.
Failing to follow these instructions will affect your results in many ways, one of which being, if you consume caffeine (or anything that thins the blood) during the time frame stated above, it becomes much more difficult to implant pigment into your skin. This can greatly affect your healed results, resulting in more fading and patchy/uneven healed results.
Watch me, pretty please.
First off, kudos to you! You trusted me to tattoo your face, and that’s a pretty big deal—I don’t take it lightly. Now, it’s your turn to shine by giving your fresh brows, liner, or lips a little extra love and care. Following these aftercare steps isn’t just important; it’s everything when it comes to ensuring your new look heals beautifully and lasts as long as possible.
Think of it this way—your fresh tattoo is like a piece of fine art (because it is!), and just like any masterpiece, it needs proper care to stay stunning. Whether you’re sporting perfect brows, smudge-proof eyeliner, or kissable lips, keeping things clean, hydrated, and protected from the sun will help everything settle into place just right.
Don’t worry—I’ll walk you through each step with easy-to-follow instructions in the video below. It’s quick, painless (this time!), and totally worth it. So grab a cozy seat, press play, and let’s make sure your fabulous new look stays flawless for the long haul!
Lip Aftercare Instructions (glow and heal!)
A little patience goes a long way! It can take up to 6 weeks for your new look to fully heal and reveal its true color, so don’t be surprised if things look a bit bold at first—it’s all part of the process. Touch-ups are typically scheduled between 6 to 10 weeks to perfect those final details. Trust the process, follow your aftercare instructions, and soon enough, you’ll be rocking your beautifully healed results!
-
For 1 week post-procedure, refrain from applying makeup on treated areas, exposing the area to direct sunlight or tanning beds, and picking or scratching the treated skin to prevent irritation and uneven healing.
For 2 weeks post-procedure, avoid steamy showers, heavy sweating, and direct sun exposure. Long-term, steer clear of anti-aging or acne products around the brow area, as they may fade the pigment prematurely.
-
Gently cleanse the area.
Apply the provided balm 3 times daily for 7 days to keep the area hydrated and promote optimal healing.
-
Allow any scabs to fall off naturally—don’t force them. Keep in mind that the initial color will appear more vibrant but will soften as healing progresses.
Wash the treated area gently within 4 hours post-procedure. Continue washing morning and night for 3 days to keep the area clean and free from bacteria.
For any concerns or unusual symptoms during the healing process, please contact Lure Studio at 480-442-1827 or lurestudioaz@gmail.com.
Sticking to these guidelines is the secret sauce to getting gorgeous, long-lasting results from your permanent makeup!
LIP BLUSH FAQs
-
Lip Blush is the implantation of pigment into the epidermal/dermal layer of skin. This service is the ideal procedure to enhance the natural beauty of the lips. Just like brows, every artist has their own style. Here at Lure Studio, we aim to provide a natural, subtle enhancement to the lips. This will not replace your lipstick. Think of a beautiful tinted chapstick, that helps even out your lip tone and defines lost definition at the natural border of your lips. Depending on how your skin receives the pigment and the pigment used, results can last anywhere from 18 months-3 years.
-
Each person has a different pain tolerance, but generally, it is mild/moderate and very bearable! In most cases, a topical anesthetic is used throughout the procedure. For women, we recommend booking an appointment while NOT on your menstrual cycle. It will help with pain and excessive bleeding of the lips.
-
Everyone is different! On average, 2 sessions. An initial session and a touch up 6-12 weeks from the first appointment. Due to the uniqueness of each individual and the superficial nature of the tattoo itself additional sessions could be needed. Touch ups provide an opportunity to assess how your skin responds to the procedure and are an opportunity to make any adjustments necessary while also lengthening the longevity. Touch up sessions are not included in the initial price.
Long term, maintenance touch ups will be needed every 18-36 months on average to maintain shape and color.
-
Dark lip neutralization is just another name for a cosmetic tattoo treatment that is utilized for clients whose natural base undertone (the natural color on their lips) is cool or dark. Simply adding the desired “target” color on top of those tones would have undesirable results. The cool/dark undertones must be first transformed to a neutral tone prior to enhancing the color to the desired result. The number of sessions can vary from 2-4 to achieve the desired result.
-
As far as shape, we can not and will not go beyond the vermillion border of your lips. Yes, make up can achieve that but you CAN NOT do that with Lip Blush. The skin on your face and the skin on your lips is completely different and if you go beyond the vermilion border, the pigment will be brighter and bolder, creating a lip liner look. So your lips will look fuller and more defined because most of us lack definition at our true vermillion border, but this is not a procedure to makes your lips larger. We highly recommend looking into lip filler if that is what you a trying to achieve! Lips with filler are actually better for Lip Blush, as filler plumps and hydrates our lips, and smooths out the surface! But it turn, highly overfilled lips can make Lip Blush more difficult! It is all about balance and setting realistic expectations which we will ALWAYS do.
-
Certain skin conditions in the lip area, medications, and skin types may prohibit you from being a candidate for Lip Blush. Also includes, but is not limited to:
Cracked, dry lips
Smokers
Those with deep wrinkles through lips
Intense sun damaged lips
Thin skin
Highly hyper/hyopigmentated lips
If you do have very thin lips, it may be advised you to look into lip filler first as it will only benefit you and allow the lip blush to be visible!
Please contact us if you have any question on being a candidate in general! Things like pregnancy, breastfeeding, temporary use of a skin product, sunburns, etc. may temporarily prohibit getting the service done! Please visit the precare instructions for more information on how to prepare for an appointment!

As far as pigment choice, we do HIGHLY recommend bringing in a shade that you enjoy wearing! Pigment choice is a blend of artist and client collaboration. It is key to understand we are tattooing under the surface of your skin where as make up sits on top, so a large component is the warm or cool undertones of your natural lip. So for example, we can not tattoo a cool tone over already cool toned lips. The result would be OVERLY cool toned lips and will not do well longterm as It fades. So we want to see the shades you enjoy wearing, but we will always ensure whatever shade chosen is suitable choice! We also believe that some of the best results, are from your natural lip tones! By enhancing the most vibrant part of your lips and evening that out, it can deliver the most natural, blush of color! Overall, we love a natural enhancement that will age and fade well with every client.
